The shelf life of natural cheese and processed cheese is much longer than the raw milk. Most cheese products are packaged in a multilayer composite film that contains a barrier layer to limit water loss and delay oxidative deterioration.
Other dairy products, such as butter, are mostly packaged in paper coated with wax or LDPE, while ice cream is packaged in refrigerated composite bags such as OPP film or aluminized composite film.
Regular packaging bag material for dairy products:
- Toughness film: LLDPE co-extrusion film, LDPE/EVA co-extrusion film
- Anti-oxidation film: K-Ny, K-OPP, K-PET
- High barrier co-extrusion film: Nylon/EVOH/EVA, PP/PE/PP/PVDC/EVA
- Frozen laminated film: Can choose OPP, PET, Metallic film, Nylon + LDPE
- High barrier laminated film: Cellophane/OPP/PVDC, PVDC/OPP/Acrylic-acid
